As a tribute to the death anniversary of sarod exponent Ustad Haafiz Ali Khan, his esteemed son Amjad Ali Khan and grandsons Amaan Ali Bangash & Ayaan Ali Bangash will be performing at this memorial concert.

Held at the prestigious Tata Theatre, NCPA, at 7.30 pm on 30th January 2020, the event will be a perfect treat for music lovers of Bombay.

With 3 of the most iconic personalities in the field of Indian classical music, this will be a coming together of two generations of musicians to celebrate the occasion. They will be accompanied by the highly talented Vijay Ghate on Tabla and by the versatile Sridhar Parthasarathy on Mridangam.

Amjad Ali Khan, a sixth-generation sarod maestro and Padma Vibhushan awardee, was trained by his father and Guru, Ustad Haafiz Ali Khan and in turn Amjad Ali Khan has been the Guru to his two sons Amaan Ali Bangash & Ayaan Ali Bangash.

Shradhanjali is in support of “Sarod Ghar”, a trust and museum set up by Amjad Ali Khan after the passing of his father as a humble tribute. The museum has an enviable collection of personal musical instruments from some of India’s biggest artists and has been visited by dignitaries like the past President of India, Vice-President, Prime Minister and numerous others.
