An NCPA presentation
Curated by team Dilip Piramal Art Gallery and Andrea Fernandes
Culled from multimedia prints created during a cyanotype printmaking workshop led by artist Andrea Fernandes over a weekend in May end, this group show brings together an interesting mix of artists whose works are just as diverse in their themes. From landscapes and portraits to odes to the city of Mumbai and as far stretched as the solar system, these layered works of art reflect the curiosities and pursuits of its creators. Objects, collected over time, found material and more collide together with photographs and text to form these textured blue prints that each tell a story of their own. While every body of work on display has distinct, they are bound together by one common thread – that of experimenting and celebrating art that emerges from accidents and mistakes that might look abstract but never not magical.
Accompanying the exhibition is a curated segment of photobooks from the Editions Jojo Library that expands the core idea of the workshop being experimental and leaning into older, slower forms of creating images. Visitors are most welcome to browse through the carefully selected books by the facilitator.
