Verdi: Overture to Nabucco
Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op. 30
Beethoven: Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92

The concert conducted by English Gold Medalist at the Guildhall School of Music, Richard Farnes who will be joined by the engrossing, sophisticated and musical-storytelling pianist Pavel Kolesnikov joins the SOI to perform the mesmerising and technically-challenging Piano Concerto No. 3 by Rachmaninoff. The programme also features Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 beloved for its lively rhythms that led Richard Wagner to describe it as the “apotheosis of the dance.” Richard Farnes, former music director of Opera North and 2017 Royal Philharmonic Society Award-winner, conducts.

This programme runs approximately 120 mins with one intermission.
