Four symphonic concerts and three incredible recitals to look forward to! Experience the music of Sir Karl Jenkins, one of the world’s most performed living composers, with the Indian premiere of his Requiem. The season will feature an eclectic repertoire featuring music from Weber’s opera Der Freischütz, symphonies by Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Dvořák, Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3, and more!
Choirs from around India will be featured in the Requiem, alongside soprano, Zarina Altynbayeva. Evgeny Bushkov, former Resident Conductor, and Marat Bisengaliev, the SOI’s current Music Director, will open the Spring 2023 Season concerts along with the “highly imaginative and dynamic” John Axelrod, who makes his debut conducting the SOI. World-renowned soloists will descend upon the NCPA, including pianists Plamena Mangova, Alim Beisembayev and James Baillieu, and flautist Adam Walker, former principal flute of the London Symphony Orchestra.
