An NCPA Presentation

Spectrum is a festival for dances from across the world. In its 50th year, the NCPA is back with the 2nd edition of this festival with two unique presentations. On 8th February, an evening dedicated to Bollywood classics and on 16th February, an evening of Flamenco from Spain and Pung Cholom (drum Dance) from Manipur.

Jhelum Paranjape is one of the foremost exponents of Odissi in Mumbai and the most senior disciple of Kelucharan Mohapatra. In 1989,Paranjape established Smitalay, a premier Odissi institution in Mumbai. Paranjape will follow the thought process behind Odissi in Margam,presenting the journey of the soul from devotion to salvation through Bollywood songs. Sandip Soparrkar is an Indian, Latin and ballroom dancer, Bollywood choreographer, actor and columnist who holds a doctorate in World Mythology Folklore from the United States. He will present a bouquet of joyful Bollywood songs. Tina Tambe is a Kathak performer of Jaipur gharana style. She will present classical composition of dance numbers which have been used in movies.
