An NCPA Presentation

The Enchanting Music of Johann Strauss

The second set of talks is all things Strauss and comes right in time for Zubin Mehta’s upcoming concerts in August. In Dr. Cavas Bilimoria’s opinion, no conductor conducts the music of Johann Strauss as to the manner born as Maestro Mehta. His grace, lilt, and rubato—which flourished under the legendary conductor Hans Swarovsky in Vienna—are an intrinsic aspect of Strauss’s music. Mumbai is in for a musical treat and the talk will serve as a fitting precursor to the concert experience.
