An NCPA Presentation
Brahms: Piano Concerto No. 2
The first talk in October by Dr. Cavas Bilimoria will focus on Brahms’s Piano Concerto
No. 2. The German composer wrote two piano concertos of striking contrast; the second one being a more mature manifestation of his music. Beginning with a deceptively benign exchange between the horn and the piano, the work charges into powerful movements with even a solo cello taking centre stage. The piano then joins it with the clarinet. Dr. Bilimoria’s talk will further unpack the composition.
