An NCPA Presentation

Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade

Dr. Cavas Bilimoria’s talks this month will familiarise listeners with the music being performed at the SOI Autumn 2025 Season. The second talk in the series will focus on Rimsky-Korsakov’s masterpiece Scheherazade. It displays the prowess of the Russian composer in creating an orchestral kaleidoscope of the beloved tales of One Thousand and One Nights, in which the Persian princess Sheherazade captivates Sultan Shahryar night after night by telling him stories to postpone her execution with each dawn.
