Saturday 30th November – 10am to 1pm

This three-hour session will start with a rigorous vocal and physical warm up which will then lead into a selection of acting games and activities. This will lead on to storytelling and how to build a character from scratch.  Participants will leave feeling they have had an experience of seeing the world from someone else’s perspective and owning their truth – which is what acting is all about.

Bruce Guthrie – Head of Theatre & Film for the NCPA

Bruce has directed critically acclaimed plays and musicals, in London, New York and all over the world. He trained as a Director at the National Theatre Studio and has worked as an assistant or associate to Howard Davies, Richard Eyre, Sam Mendes, and Deborah Warner.   He was the Artistic Director of the National Youth Theatre of Wales in 2015 & 2016 and has worked with multiple UK Conservatoires including Guildford School of Acting (where he sits on the advisory board), The London Academy of Dramatic Art (LAMDA) The Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He has worked with a number of award-winning actors, athletes and Royalty (including British Lions Captain Sam Warburton OBE and the Prince of Wales) to raise money for charity by writing, directing and producing large-scale events, fundraisers and concerts.

An exclusive 20% discount can be availed by students for all the events that will be taking place at the NCPA Add Art Festival.
Each student will be allowed to purchase only one discounted ticket against one Student ID.
Each Student must present a valid photo Student ID with an expiry date at the box office on the day of the show in-order to enter the venue.
