An Introductory Acting Workshop

The workshop will be conducted by renowned theatre director and actor, Mr. Sachin Shinde, whose invaluable contribution to the field of acting and theatre training is widely recognized.

The workshop will cover various aspects of acting, including:

  1. Understanding the essence of acting
  2. Different types and styles of acting
  3. The actor’s preparation process
  4. Character study and development
  5. Voice modulation and dialogue delivery
  6. Observation and imagination training
  7. Emotional expression
  8. Differences between stage and on-camera acting

 

About the Conductor:

Sachin Shinde
Sachin Shinde, a distinguished figure in Marathi theatre and cinema, has received the Zee Gaurav and Mata Sanman Awards for seven experimental plays since 2015. With a diverse career spanning acting and direction, he has performed in 15 feature films and directed three Marathi films along with a television series. His artistic journey includes featuring in the Marathi music album Maitra Jeevacha in collaboration with Lata Mangeshkar. Currently, he is producing and directing two shows for Zee Marathi—Avgha Rang Ek Zhala and Vedh Bhavishyacha. He created history in Marathi theatre by organizing four consecutive performances across Maharashtra under Natya Chaufula. Passionate about social impact, he actively promotes mental health awareness through theatre with Manas Rang and has organized Hamari Duniya, a theatre performance in Delhi featuring orphan children from railway platforms. His achievements include winning first prize for three consecutive years in the Maharashtra State Drama Competition and directing around 35 full-length plays and over 50 one-act plays. His directorial work includes the play Kalgitura, produced by NCPA, Mumbai, and selections at the Bharangam International Theatre Festival organized by NSD, Delhi, for three consecutive years. He has also conducted theatre training workshops at institutions such as Savitribai Phule Pune University, Mumbai University, and Ruia College. Additionally, the earnings from his play Handabhar Chandanya were used to address drinking water issues in drought-affected villages. His upcoming Hindi web series Kaan Khajura, in which he plays a key role, is set to release on Hotstar. Recognized for his contributions to the field, he has been appointed as the Director of Lalit Kala Kendra at Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University.
