The moon, the brightest celestial object in our night sky, and its phases, have a unique significance in our lives. No wonder so many poetic works have drawn inspiration from the beauty of the moon, especially the phenomenon of the full moon.

Presented around the occasion of Sharad Purnima (also known as Kojagiri/Kaumudi Purnima), this concert is a tribute to the sheer magnificence of the full moon night. Songs presented are based on exquisite works by eminent Marathi poets, such as Mangesh Padgaonkar, Grace, Shanta Shelke and others. The evening will also explore some popular songs composed by music directors, Shrinivas Khale, Sudhir Phadke and Yashwant Deo. The poetry presented varies from joyous and romantic to tender, nostalgic and heart-rending.

The music is arranged by Prashant Lalit and presented by five popular singers, Pravin Shringarpure, Ketaki Bhave Josh, Dr. Jay Ajgaonkar, Alhad Palekar and Kalpana Santosh, interspersed with relevant comments by Dipti Bhagwat and Siddharth Deshpande.
