An NCPA Presentation

Premiering at the NCPA, the group production Vivarta has been choreographed by the legendary Kathak exponent, Padma Bhushan Kumudini Lakhia. The production, based on the poem ‘Ni-ra-tata-dhang,’ a composition by Maharaj Bindadin, the Adiguru of Kathak dance, narrates the actual bols of the Kathak vocabulary and highlights the movement patterns of the classical technique of Kathak dance. The music for the production is composed by Padma Shri Madhup Mudgal.

This production was earlier produced for the Kathak Kendra , New Delhi sponsored by the Sangeet Natak Akademi in the year 2009 in the name of Punarnava.
