Dance is a latent gift within each human being and undoubtedly it is a multilayered powerhouse of transformation. Bharatanatyam owes its allegiance to Shiva, whose tandava nritya represents the cosmic dance of the universe, where nothing is constant and matter is relentlessly changing from one state to another. His cosmic dance symbolises dissolution, to allow creation, renewal and regeneration. Every move, every step that he takes signifies change, only to continue the life cycle of creation and dissolution. Lord Shiva himself embodies the conception of transformation.
