An NCPA & Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre (WRRC) Presentation

A pivotal documentary Where The Elephant Sleeps, focuses on the lives of the Amer Fort Elephants, used to ferry tourists. Have you ever wondered if an animal with such an intelligent mind and complex heart deserves a life in chains, carrying heavy howdahs and walking on tarred hot roads? Ever asked yourself what those eyes looking back at you, as you feed it a banana or take a blessing are asking? It’s a ride for you but a lifetime of relentless suffering and exploitation for them. The lives of these elephants are similar to those led by almost all the 3,500 elephants held in commercial captivity across India.
