An NCPA Presentation

Holi, the festival of colour, captures a spirit of exhilaration in the hearts of people during the month of Fagun. It is a season of festivity and celebration, with lilting music and dance, spraying of colour and unleashing of energy. This specially designed concert will evoke the joyous spirit of Holi through a repertoire rich in songs, melodies, rhythms and poetry. The amorous subject matter is inspired by the pranks of Lord Krishna, songs of young couples in love, and the eternal love of Radha and Krishna. Ashwini Bhide was groomed by veterans like Narayanrao Datar, her mother Manik Bhide and Ratnakar Pai. Her style is marked by effortless exposition of melodies with pleasing tonal quality and aesthetic appeal. Bhide will create the splendour of this colourful festival with compositions drawn from classical and semi-classical music.
