The NCPA embraces all the major strands of Indian music and continues to feature a wide spectrum of artistes – from up and coming to top-ranking and living legends. The range of genres is equally diverse – from pure classical, semi-classical to devotional, light, regional, folk and cross-over music. The unique thematic element associated with each property makes it exclusive. Over the past decade, NCPA’s thematically curated Indian music festivals have been appreciated by the artistes as well as audiences worldwide.
As a major art Centre of international eminence, NCPA supports smaller cultural groups spread across the country, in promoting the cause of Indian music. Collaborative endeavours with several such organisations help serve our mission to reach out to a wider audience.
As a member organisation of the International Music Council (IMC under UNESCO), we believe that every child has a fundamental right to engage with music. As a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we offer music engagement to over one thousand five hundred school children from socio-economically challenged section of the society. We also take pride in upholding the traditional system of Guru-shishya system by providing financial support to several Gurus to train their promising disciples, and assist promising young students of music by way of providing scholarships.
NCPA strives to fulfil its mission to preserve and propagate all forms of music in India, by promoting the traditional forms of music, and also offering opportunities for newer artistic explorations.
