The New Era of Musicians
An NCPA Presentation
A Swing at Jazz is an evening of jazz and more by a young ensemble, all students of the Cathedral & John Connon School. They have been performing together for the last four years, often in support of causes close to their heart, such as Songbound, Salaam Bombay and The Welfare of Stray Dogs, at venues ranging from Blue Frog and Turf Club to Café Zoe and Kamala Nehru Park. The band’s repertoire covers different styles of jazz, including popular songs such as ‘Summertime’ and ‘Girl from Ipanema’ as well as modern jazz. Inspired by their love for this genre, they have produced jazz-influenced versions of new pop songs, their most popular being a recent cover of ‘Faded’ by Alan Walker. With years of formal music training spanning Indian and Western classical, jazz and rock, each brings their unique talent to this exciting programme.
