An NCPA Presentation

Essentially a form of romantic poetry, the format of ghazal lends itself for being composed to music and presented as a ‘song’. After having trained in Hindustani vocal music, Gaurav Chopra was initiated into the pensive and emotive milieu of ghazals. With a keen insight into the works of great poets and styles of legendary masters such as Mehdi Hasan, Ghulam Ali, Farida Khanum, Jagjit Singh and such others, he has developed his own personal approach to ghazal, wherein he goes through their distinctive shades in a composition style. His compositions are delightfully enchanting with delicate improvisational patterns that enhance the elegance of the poetry, and his singing portrays an exquisite effusion of feelings with an alluring lilt.

Admission on a first-come-first-served basis. NCPA members will get preferential seating till 6.20 pm.
