The National Youth Orchestra of Germany is one of the world’s leading youth orchestras, comprising the best of the country’s younger generation of musicians. The orchestra makes regular national and international concert tours, and has performed under the direction of celebrated conductors such as Kurt Masur, Sir Simon Rattle, Kirill Petrenko and Sebastian Weigle. The concert will be conducted by Hermann Bäumer, a former member of the Berlin Philharmonic and currently the principal conductor of the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Mainz and music director of the city’s Staatstheater.
