Spectrum is a festival for dances from across the world. In its 50th year, the NCPA is back with the 2nd edition of this festival with two unique presentations. On 8th February, an evening dedicated to Bollywood classics and on 16th February, an evening of Flamenco from Spain and Pung Cholom (drum Dance) from Manipur.

Flamenco-Kathaa
by Aditi Bhagwat & Kunal Om
Pung Cholom
by Drummers from Manipur
Yumnam Bhumeshwor Singh and Troupe
(approx. 90 mins)

Flamenco-Kathaa is a blend of the two disciplines in their pure and collaborative form. With foot-tapping being at the crux of both styles, Flamenco and Kathak seamlessly overlap, creating rhythmic patterns and nuances unique to the two dance forms. In Pung Cholom, traditional drummers from Manipur will perform acrobatic acts while playing their traditional drum. Pung is the name of the traditional drum and Cholom means walking with the drum.
