“Crochets, minims, sharp, flat, every good boy deserves favour. You’ll pick it up in no time.”
After wowing audiences and critics alike with its Indian premiere, Sir Tom Stoppard and André Previn’s satirical masterpiece returns to the NCPA! This unique theatrical event promises to enthrall you with an incredible orchestra and Stoppard’s signature humour.
“The scale of the production is spectacular, it is something that might have never been experienced before in India.”
– Mumbai Theatre Guide
Every Good Boy Deserves Favour combines spectacle with emotion and conflict. A dissident is locked up in an asylum, stuck sharing a cell with a schizophrenic who believes he’s part of an orchestra. The orchestra is played by the NCPA’s own Symphony Orchestra of India, India’s only full-time professional orchestra. The dissident’s son begs his father to free himself with a lie. What would you choose: your principles or your family?
“You find yourselves chuckling at the darkly funny situations but also paying heed to the subtle ways in which Stoppard is trying to warn you.”
– The Times of India
