NCPA Presents Darpan

A Marathi writing initiative for Marathi theatre groups and writers.

Our objective is to provide an opportunity for a Marathi theatre group/writer to create a piece of new work, which will premiere at the NCPA’s Pratibimb Marathi Natya Utsav 2024, prior to touring the state. There is no requirement for entry-level experience, either minimum or maximum. A good play idea is all you need.



  • September 11th – Submissions open
  • October 11th, 8:00 pm – Submissions deadline
  • November 7th – 8 pitches selected
  • November 30th – Shortlisting of 4 to 5 writer’s/group’s
  • December 5th – Shortlisted groups announced
  • January 20th – Final readings
  • January 30th – Final decision on play to be produced at Pratibimb 2024
