(Krishna & Gopis – A Love Story)
Rasa-Keli brings to stage the transcendental love story of Shri Krishna and the Gopis as never seen before. This latest production of acclaimed Sattriya exponent Prateesha Suresh is an interpretation of the compositions of Shrimanta Shankaradeva, dating back to the 15th Century. Saints and scholars alike consider the union of Shri Krishna and the Gopis as the highest philosophy of devotion. The retelling of Keli Gopal’s poetic composition Rasakrida is part of the age-old tradition preserved in the Sattras of Assam. Capturing the authentic spirit of its origins, Prateesha spent half a year in Assam perfecting the choreography, music composition, costume and stage design with the Assamese dancers before its upcoming premiere in Mumbai.
