Prokofiev: Classical Symphony

The SOI Chamber Orchestra led by Mikhail Shekhtman performs works by Saint-Saëns, Mozart, Prokofiev, and more. Russian violinist Elena Tarosyan will perform the ‘Carmen Fantasie’ a virtuoso showpiece for violin and orchestra based on themes from Bizet beloved opera. Prokofiev wrote his Classical Symphony as a modern take on the classical style of Mozart and Haydn and it remains one of the composer’s best known works. Shekhtman will also be the soloist in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, staple at concerts for over hundreds of years.
