Sinam Basu Singh, is a Top graded artist, SNA Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee is a dedicated, versatile and promising young exponent of Manipuri dance, who hails from the state of Manipur. He is the grandson of Maestro Meitei Pung Drum Guru late Sinam Bokul Singh. And disciples of Guru N. Tiken Singh, Guru (late) W. Lokendrajit Singh, Guru Y. Hemanta Kumar and Guru N. Amusana Devi. He is an empanelled artists of ICCR and Ministry of Culture. He has completed his diploma from JNMDA Imphal and also completed graduation and master from Visva-Bharati University and at present he is a Ph.D scholar. Basu’s performance has taken him across the length and breadth of the country and to the various prestigious festival in abroad like Australia, Japan, Russia, America, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand etc. In his credit he had composed a numbers of Manipuri solo dance and also choreograph a number of choreographic works. Presently, Basu is a choreographer of the production unit ‘Progressive Artist Laboratory’ (PAL) an organization of Dance and Music .

Konjengbam Monika Devi
Exponent of Manipuri Dance

Konjengbam Monika Devi wife of Shri Sinam Basu Singh is a very dedicated and promising upcoming young exponent of Manipuri dance from the state of Manipur. She is a disciple of Guru R.K. Achoubisana, Guru Budhichandra Roy, Guru N. Amusana Devi, Guru Th.Hemchandra Singh, Guru N. Tiken Singh, Guru R.K. Sarojini Devi and Guru S. Kriti Singh.
Monika is an approved artiste of Imphal Doordarshan. She has completed 3 yrs Diploma
course on Manipuri dance, 3 yrs Post diploma course on Ras and 3 yrs Post Diploma course on Lai-Haraoba from Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal and also, she has completed Graduation and Master on Manipuri dance from Manipur University. Beside dance she has learned various aspect of arts like Manipuri Martial art (Thang-Ta), Manipuri folk and Natasankritan song.

Her performance has taken her across the length and breadth of the country and abroad to the various prestigious festivals like International Ibsen Seminar and theatre, Bangladesh 2009, Festival of India, China 2010, Theatre Olympics, Seoul,Korea 2010, Festival of Light Auckland and Willington, New Zealand 2013, Manipuri Cultural Festival,Myanmar 2014, TET Festival, Vietnam 2016, Tokamachi Snow Fall Festival, Japan 2016.

She has been adorned with various awards likes National Scholarship by Ministry of culture Govt. of India 2007, One year scholarship conferred by Sangeet Natak Akademi 2013, Rajyapal Gold Medal by JNMDA, Imphal 2014, Young Scholarship by Manipur State Kala Akademi Imphal 2016, IIDF Award (India international Dance Festival) 2016, Bhubhaneshwor, Girnar Nritya Ratna by Patel Cultural foundation, Mumbai and Girnar Mahosav, Junagarth, Gujarat 2016 and Bharatiya Kalasree Ratna Award by Indian Dance Academy (A unit of Indian Trust for Art & Culture) Bhubaneswar 2018 Junior Fellowship Award 2019-2020 on Manipuri dance by CRT Ministry of Culture Govt.of India.
